The curtain's finally drawn.
As I did this meme in 2008 I thought I should do this for 2009 too (sans the fact I was a little late). I expect to type up my resolutions later. There are lots of things I could say that we didn't do in the last decade that I hope we, as a world, planet; as a race, do in the next decade but for right now, I just hope that whoever you are, wherever you live, that 2010 is an amazing year for you.

2009 was a year which did many things. It brought me happiness and sadness, faith and disbelief, the best company in the world and utter loneliness. It's brought me to doubt myself, and have faith in my convictions. To be critical, but to appreciate simplicity. Of everything though, 2009 was the most beautiful year I've lived through; visually, socially or creatively. So, be it in a crowded cafe listening to poems bounce across a waiting crowd, or staring across the expanses of ice and the bluest water in Iceland, I am thankful. <3

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
Saw the aurora borealis.
Walked along the black beach, and jumped off the granite pillars, too cold to really move, but warm enough to take a picture.
Sang 'Don't stop me now' by Queen in my worst screamo on the top of a humid hotel roof in Spain at 3 am with my friends.
Learned to play an instrument, my euphonium, which is epic.
Skipped down the parks of Edinburgh while part of a human version of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
Hugged a random singing man in Scotland whilst dressed in full MJ attire.
Sang Star Wars walking down the streets of Spain.
Celebrated Christmas in July, dancing down Carterknowle Rd. in full Santa costume for an English competition...that we lost.
Sang a parody of an already bad song in front of a school of 700, realising that it was worth the embarrasment.

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make one, but I set goals. Which I'd like to think I achieved. I think chances of me making a resolution is quite high this year though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
Scotland, Iceland and Spain.

6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
As always, a sense of organisation.

7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory?
1st December.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
My biggest achievement? I don't really know if there's anything achievement worthy I can think of.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Losing sight of what's important, at times.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A rather nasty chest infection in October.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Would you believe threads for friendship bracelets?

12. Where did most of your money go?
Bus tickets, books and oddments. >>

18. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
Outside my family, Camelia. (cam_y) Or, for texting, Anna. (anzisbak)

19. How many one night stands in this last year?

20. What was your favourite TV programme?

21. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No, I tend not to do hating.

Ishmael - Daniel Quinn. Paper Towns - John Green.

23. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Death Cab for Cutie. SYO.

24. What were your favourite films of this year?
Hmm, I couldn't really say what my favourites were, but I really liked Sherlock Holmes.

25. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 15, and I went to the Indian embassy to renew my passport, ate a dodgy sandwich and felt thoroughly ill. It was a good day, though.

26. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Whatever was on the end of my bed?

27. What kept you sane?
Music and literature.

28. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Ben Barnes (:

30. Who did you miss?
Alison Bromley.

31. What political issue stirred you the most?
Mm, idk. MP expenses scandal, prolly.

32. What did you want and got?
I really wanted a new/old violin and yes, I got one.

33. Who was the best new person you met?
Far too many to list. So many wonderful people this year.

34. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009.
We cannot change everyone, but we may only attempt to correct nature by correcting ourselves first.

35. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year?
I gotta fly once, I gotta try once,
Only can die once, right, sir?
Ooh, life is juicy, juicy and you see,
I gotta have my bite, sir.
